Alright, Since the first person (Chris) completed a character sheet and we started working on the Tutorial for his character, I have fleshed out my ideas on a tutorial system.
Namely, This is going to be an introduction to our game, how your characters came to be involved with your individual clans, and so forth. This is a mandatory "course" in how to play clans. I do this because this will be the single time I will hand hold any player and guide them through. It also assures 'me' that everyone starts off with the same general oppertunies as everyone else.
Don't let that fool anyone that they will all be the same- or even if I'll do things in the same order.. but here are the ____ levels of the tutorial you need to get passed before I'll let you loose on Harpeah (and you can start posting in the various forums on a public level...
*PLEASE* use this as an oppertunity to ask me questions, really get into the system and the various things. This is the only time the ST will not be working against you (and in some cases, for you..) This is the only time I can simply, flat out promise I'm working with you, not really against you. All the quests, all the adventures.. all the whatevers, are all going to be simple, clean and clearcut. This will rarely happen again.
So please... if you have questions, get answers now!
- Level 1 - Beginnings an introduction to you. This is very simply the first time you play your character and adjust to the forums setting... it will probably be relatively short (assuming this isn't new to anyone.. someone who needs more "practice" may get a bit of a longer session.
- Level 2 - This is an introduction to your clan, as it works, how it works, and yes, why it works.. and why it's important.
- Level 3 - Introduction to elemental powers (that's magic kids) If you haven't gotten it elsewhere, this "lesson" is all about using the element and finding out how it comes across to you.. I suspect everyone will have a different way of going about "using" magic.
- Level 4 - Introduction to the Council. The ruling body of Harpeah actually works near and around it's people.
- Level 5 - This is the most fluid of all the levels, that is to say it may happen during any other of the levels... Like Level 3 this is one of those things that just pops up everywhere. What is it? Combat. This is your combat tutorial. From skill checks to actual monster-smashing! (Probably one of the only times you'll be ug smashing with ST happiness!)
After this you will get an introduction to the ideal age. You and I will go over any plot questions about what happens during the tutorial (Before, During and after Apprentice, up to journeyman.. which is where you will start playing.
Every "10" Years there is a tournament where people will have the chance to gain mastery. I will post when the tournament is happening in the time line for a week, when we'll have mastery level tests and such. (May run over a week for some people who play slower.
